Couples and families are a little more nuanced due to the addition of other members. It takes extra time to get through all the information because we are hearing from all parties involved.

Key Areas of Focus:
Couples and Families
In your first session, we’ll go over your intake paperwork and answer any questions you have. We will take some time to understand your situation, your history, and you as a couple or family. The first session will last 90-minutes and every session after that will be 45 – 50 minutes, and I recommend we follow the 4-session process to begin.
Individuals
During your first session we will also take some time to understand your situation, your history, and your hopes for counseling. Sessions will be 45 – 50 minutes, and I recommend in the beginning, we meet once a week for the first 4 weeks.
Payment is processed electronically at the end of your session.
Depending on your background, you may feel like counseling is part of maintaining your mental wellbeing or you may come from a background that is skeptical or even embarrassed about needing or wanting help. We are here to tell you that there is no shame in having a guide from time to time. Below are some reasons to get started.
Online therapy consists of face-to-face, real-time video conferencing. We do not offer text or telephone therapy. Please be sure you have camera capability on your device.
Absolutely. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of online therapy when they are traveling, have a tight schedule, their partner is in a different location, or during inclement weather.
Yes. We use a HIPPA-compliant platform within the patient portal. However, please be aware of your surroundings during online sessions and avoid conducting your sessions in public areas or on unsecured Wi-Fi. Consider using headphones or earbuds. We discourage engaging in online therapy with non-clients in the room.
My goal is to work myself out of a job. Just as you do, I want to see you feel better as soon as possible. The length of therapy depends on your needs, how much effort you put in outside of our time, and frequency. I will equip you with resources as we work together to untangle life’s challenges with the goal being that you feel ready to move on in as much or little time as you need.
What I have seen work best is if you commit to 4 weeks of sequential sessions and then we can assess your need from there. It is important to build momentum and can dive into who you are as a person. Every situation is different, and some may need weekly sessions out of the gate and others may be fine going bi-weekly or monthly. You are in control of the process.
