Couples Intensives

Intensive Relationship Support

FOCUSED RELATIONSHIP WORK

Couples Intensive

At Mountain Pathways Counseling, Couples Intensives are designed for couples who know their relationship matters – and who are ready to slow down, focus, and engage in meaningful work together.

For some couples, weekly therapy is effective and appropriate. For others, progress can feel slow when complex patterns, repeated conflict, or long-standing disconnection continue to resurface. Couples Intensives provide extended, uninterrupted time to understand your relational patterns, practice new ways of engaging, and create real momentum toward change.

These intensives are not about quick fixes.
They are about intentional depth.

A SUPPORTIVE SPACE FOR GROWTH

What Is a Couples Intensive?

A Couples Intensive is a structured block of therapy – 3 or 6 hours  – focused entirely on your relationship. Rather than spreading important conversations across many weeks, intensives allow you to stay with the work long enough for clarity, insight, and repair to emerge.

This format is often helpful for couples who:

EVIDENCE-BASED AND TRAUMA-INFORMED

What the Work Looks Like

Couples Intensives at Mountain Pathways Counseling are informed by evidence-based couples therapy approaches and grounded in a trauma-informed understanding of how stress, attachment, and emotional safety shape relationships.

During an intensive, we will:

  • Identify and map your negative interaction cycles

  • Slow down conflict so it can be understood, not escalated

  • Strengthen emotional awareness and responsiveness

  • Practice communication that supports connection rather than defense

  • Build tools you can take back into daily life

The goal is not perfection – but clarity, safety, and forward movement.

Investment & Structure

Couples Intensives are offered in two formats :

3-Hour Intensive: $600

6-Hour Intensive: $1,200

Readiness Matters

Couples Intensives are most effective when both partners are:

  • Willing to reflect on their own contributions to the cycle

  • Open to slowing down rather than “winning” arguments

  • Ready to engage honestly, even when it’s uncomfortable

These intensives are not appropriate for situations involving active domestic violence, ongoing affairs without disclosure, or when one partner is unwilling to participate meaningfully.

To maintain clinical quality and depth, Couples Intensives are offered on a limited basis. Availability is intentionally capped to ensure adequate preparation, pacing, and follow-up support.
